If you drive a motor vehicle in Texas, then you have to have Texas auto insurance because it’s the law. The law states that a driver must have a policy that covers them for the minimum set by the state. If the minimum is not carried, then fines and license suspension is the end result. Furthermore, being in an accident without being insured means having to pay out-of-pocket for property damage, medical expenses, and any other relevant damages.
